This is my sixth year to teach Life Skills at Needville Middle School and Needville Junior High School. Prior to teaching at Needville, I was a paraprofessional for four years in a high school life skills program. I graduated from University of Houston-Downtown with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1999. I have experience teaching 1st and 2nd inclusion reading; 7th-8th grade math; 4th-6th grade inclusion co-teacher for math, science, language arts, and social studies; and a 4th-6th grade behavior class for challenged students.
All three of my children graduated from Needville High School. My daughter Rachel, is a lawyer in Houston and works for a leading insurance company. She is married to my wonderful son-in-law Ben. They have a beautiful girl, Evelyn. My son, Truitt, a Navy Veteran, is an electical engineer manager in the Kingwood area. His wife, Anna, my sweet daughter-in-law is from Russia. They have a wonderful boy, my grandson named Alexander. Clint, my youngest son, is also a Navy Veteran. He is currently attending college to further his professional development.
My wonderful husband and I have been married for 33 years. He works at Frito Lay in maintenance and is skilled at repairing computerized and robotic machinery to keep those delicious chips we like so much coming. My husband is also a Navy Veteran. He was involved in Desert Storm on a ship off the coast of Bahrain.
Some of my interests are writing children's books and songs, crafts, sewing, music, community theater, gardening, quilting, painting on canvas, painting ceramics, and recently I just joined a womens barber shop "a cappella" group called "Sweet Adelines". But my most valuable interest is spending time with my grandchildren Alexander and Evelyn.
