So you want to know about Ms. Jeske?
Julia grew up on a small farm in Southeast Iowa in a family of teachers. Her dad taught alternative high school and her mom taught 2nd grade. Even her grandmother was a 5th grade teacher! Her brother still farms alongside her 97-year old grandpa, raising corn and soybeans. She met her husband, Randal, while studying agriculture at the University of Wyoming and they have been happily married for 17 years. They have three wonderful children who attend Needville ISD schools. Julia loves spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, and reading. She loves people, the work of teaching, and the life-long learning process.
Julia tries her best to make a positive difference in the life of whoever’s path she crosses. Prior to working for NISD, she taught three years at Bowie Elementary in Rosenberg, Texas. She taught 5th grade science and math. She has also been teaching the children and youth at Grace Community Fellowship for seven years. She is especially proud and excited to begin her first year with Needville Middle School. She believes strongly that at NMS, ‘Together, we will anchor roots and strengthen wings to fly’. She seeks to build ‘grit’ into her students by being a no-excuse teacher who challenges her students to reach for the stars and go beyond expectations.
